Amir Belson, MD, Founder and CEO
Amir Belson, M.D., has successfully founded numerous companies including:
- Neoguide Systems, which Intuitive Surgical acquired in 2009,
- Vascular Pathways, a vascular intervention technology acquired by C R Bard,
- Zipline Medical, a wound closure technology company, that was acquired by Stryker,
- Qool Therapeutics a minimally invasive therapeutic hypothermia technology company,
- Radiaction Medical, a radiation protection medical device company,
- Emboline, which develops proprietary embolic protection technology,
- Modular Surgical, a company that develops new minimally invasive surgery technology,
- PAFA, which develops atrial fibrillation ablation technology.
Dr. Belson also serves as a board director of Relimetrics and QT Vascular.
Belson graduated cum laude from the School of Medicine of the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, in Haifa, Israel. He did his pediatric residency at Dana Children’s Hospital in Tel Aviv and his pediatric nephrology fellowship at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford University. Belson also spent one year as a research fellow with Stanford’s Biomedical Technology Innovation Program.
He is the author of 34 medical papers and abstracts and has more than 750 issued and pending patents.
Raul Leyte-Vidal, Chief Operating Officer
Raul Leyte-Vidal has dedicated over two decades to advancing medical technologies and addressing complex engineering challenges. He has a passion for delivering solutions that translate into tangible clinical benefits and deliver meaningful differences in the lives of patients. His experience in medical device product development and innovation enable him to build on the foundation and motivation behind Venocare’s vision. Prior to Venocare, Raul collaborated with Dr. Belson at Vascular Pathways, leading the design and development of an innovative peripheral IV catheter which was later acquired in 2015 by CR Bard. In his role, he is committed to establishing processes and delivering technologies that advance the company’s focus on quality of care and raise the standard of healthcare delivery for caregivers.
Raul graduated from the School of Engineering at the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering and a Master of Science in Engineering Management from Florida International University
Steve Lotz, Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Steve has a successful, over 20-year track record of bringing transformative technologies to market and building outstanding commercial teams. He most recently served as VP of Sales at Radiaction Medical. At Radiaction Medical, he introduced their novel technology to the US and was an integral part of all commercial efforts. Prior to Radiaction, Steve was the VP of Sales at ZipLine Medical, Inc., where he built and led the sales team from commercialization to a successful acquisition by Stryker Corporation. Steve has also held key sales management roles at Knee Creations (now Zimmer Biomet), PEAK Surgical (now Medtronic) and ArthroCare Medical (now Smith+Nephew). Steve has a BS in Biology from the University of South Florida.
Cheryl Campos, Vice President of Clinical Affairs
Dr. Cheryl Campos is the Vice President of Clinical Affairs at Venocare, Inc., where she plays a pivotal role in the development and clinical strategy of the company’s innovative vascular access devices. With over 20 years of Emergency Nursing experience, Cheryl has a distinguished career in Clinical Performance Improvement and Peer Review, coupled with her expertise as a Critical Care Nurse Educator across various specialties, including the Emergency Department, Cath Lab, Diagnostic Imaging, Telemetry, Pediatrics, and Outpatient Infusion Centers.
Cheryl earned her BSN from California State University, Chico, her MSN from the University of Phoenix, and her DNP from Capella University. She holds board certifications in Nursing Professional Development and Vascular Access and is a Certified Emergency Nurse and Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality.
At Venocare, Cheryl is focused on enhancing patient outcomes through the development and improvement of vascular access devices designed to improve first attempt success, limit complications, and elevate the standard of care provided by clinicians. Her extensive experience in teaching, project facilitation, and implementation, along with her national and international presentation experience, underpins her commitment to advancing the field of vascular access and ensuring excellence in patient care.
Ivenette Guzman, Vice President of Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs
Ivenette has over 25 years of experience on multiple quality and regulatory roles. She came from Cerenovus, a Johnson and Johnson company, where she led regulatory and quality programs for neurovascular and endovascular products. In her most recent role, Ivenette held a position as Regulatory Affairs Manager where she provided regulatory guidance to product development teams in strategic planning, pre-marketing, and submissions in support of optimal timelines for new and modified product launches. At J&J she also led the submission of licenses and authorizations for the maintenance of existing products, international registrations, and technical documentation.
In addition to her regulatory experience, Ivenette has been part of product development and line extension teams, has participated in support of manufacturing operations and cost reduction projects.
Ivenette is certified as Six Sigma Black Belt, Quality Auditor, Software Quality Engineer, has a dual RAPS certificate in Medical Devices and Pharmaceuticals, and graduated with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and an M.S. in Engineering Management from Florida International University.
Dennis Woo, Director of Clinical Success
Dennis is a nationally recognized Interventional Vascular Access Specialist and the founder of The Vascular Guy, a leading education platform and social media presence focused on improving vascular access outcomes for both clinicians and patients. With a clinical background in Pediatric and Adult Emergency Medicine and Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, Dennis has placed thousands of IVs and central lines throughout his career including advanced surgical procedures for long term intravenous therapy. What sets Dennis apart is his transition from hands-on clinical work to thought leadership and large-scale impact. As The Vascular Guy, he has built a trusted brand followed by hundreds of thousands of clinicians and over 80M views a year across platforms like Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube—delivering high-value content on vascular access techniques, device innovation, and patient safety. Dennis is a sought-after speaker and trainer, having led corporate education initiatives and in-hospital trainings for major healthcare institutions and device companies. He also presents annually at domestic and overseas clinical society meetings across world, helping shape best practices and inspire the next generation of vascular access specialists all over the world. Through his work, Dennis is helping redefine how frontline clinicians learn, engage, and perform—bringing modern tools and scalable education to one of healthcare’s most critical procedures.
Jason Stats, Director of Product Design
Jason serves as the Director of Product Design where he is happy to work with the extremely talented group of professionals at Venocare Inc. He has over 25 years of experience in the design and development of vascular access devices from early concept designs, through final production devices. In his long career at Bard Access Systems, he was proud to work on the intellectual property, design, and development of the world’s first power injectable port along with many other devices in the port, PICC, CVC, midline, dialysis, ultrasound, feeding, and PIVC product markets. He holds more than 50 issued US patents along with many more in patent pending status. He has an AAS degree in Computer Aided Design from ITT Tech, was one of the earliest Certified SolidWorks Professionals over 20 years ago and has enjoyed sharing his knowledge of good product and manufacturing design principles and techniques with others over the years. His passion is to bring new and innovative medical devices to the market to improve patient comfort, clinician experience and satisfaction, high success rates, and good return on investment for healthcare facilities. He is thrilled that the great vascular access devices Venocare is bringing to the healthcare industry aligns perfectly with these objectives.
